\nFirst-time director Agathe Riedinger expands upon her short film Waiting for Jupiter in this cautionary tale of a teenage girl obsessed with fame and her somewhat tainted vision of \u201cbeauty\u201d. Living in a shabby apartment in the South of France with her deadbeat mom and cherished little sister, Liane aspires to become the \u201cFrench Kim Kardashian.\u201d Her big break comes in the form of an audition for the reality TV show Miracle Island. Being cast is a major longshot, but Liane milks the opportunity for all its worth, calling herself an influencer, chronicling her costly and often excruciating body modifications on Instagram, and poring over comments from her thousands of followers with an almost religious fervor.
