The year is 1983. Daniel is in California. He has a revelation and returns to Paris with a message\u2026 and several tabs of LSD. \u201cI\u2019m giving up bass. It\u2019s all about decks now. I\u2019ve seen the future.\u201d Inspired by the burgeoning American DJ culture, Daniel metamorphoses into Dee Nasty and puts out the album\u00a0Paname City Rappin\u2019.\u00a0 Meanwhile, over in Saint Denis, Bruno and Didier throw themselves into the new hip-hop scene. A year later, graffiti artist Vivi makes a splash. All the pieces are now in place for a decade of profound cultural change to unfold, culminating in the birth of the legendary rap group NTM before the season\u2019s 1991 conclusion. Engaging characters, political undercurrents and a kick-ass soundtrack made this exploration of the Paris underground music scene a huge hit at this year\u2019s Series Mania Festival, where\u00a0Reign Supreme\u00a0walked away victorious, with the International Grand Prize in tow.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
