Selfless love, infidelity, happenstance and dalliance all collide in this droll, highly cerebral comedy of manners at which the French are peerless.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A 1998 graduate of La F\u00e9mis film school in Paris, writer\/director <strong>Emmanuel Mouret<\/strong> was first introduced to American audiences at COLCOA in 2005. Like Woody Allen, he has often played the na\u00efve, clumsy hero in his films, beginning with his first shorts <em>Caresse<\/em> (1998) and <em>Prom\u00e8ne-toi donc tout nu<\/em> (1999). He has directed 11 feature films. <em>V\u00e9nus et Fleur<\/em> (COLCOA 2005) and <em>Change of Address<\/em> (COLCOA 2007) both premiered at the Director\u2019s Fortnight parallel section at Cannes, and <em>Shall We Kiss?<\/em> (COLCOA 2008 \u2013 now available on <a href=\"https:\/\/theamericanfrenchfilmfestival.org\/shall-we-kiss\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COLCOA Virtual Cinema<\/a>) was presented at the Venice Film Festival. Other titles include the ensemble film <em>The Art of Love<\/em> (COLCOA 2012); <em>Another Life<\/em> (2013); <em>Caprice<\/em> (COLCOA 2015); and the period film <em>Lady J<\/em>, which was adapted from a novel by Diderot. <strong><em>Love Affair(s)<\/em><\/strong> led France\u2019s Cesar Award nominations with a total of 14 nods, including Best Director and Best Film.
