Synopsis<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Private Gabriel Ferraud barely escapes death on a barbarous WWI battlefield in 1915. Officially pronounced “dead,” he is, in fact, chosen to participate in a top-secret program. Inoculated with an experimental drug, he awakens not only healed, but seething with superhuman powers. However, survival comes at a price. If Gabriel wants to see his family again, he must join the Sentinels, a secret elite army charged with the perilous mission of bringing the war to an abrupt end. Adapted from the comic book collection of the same name, the Canal+ miniseries boasts lavish production values, futuristic superheroes, and more than a few brutal confrontations, intercut with a glimpse into the Paris underworld and a hefty dose of wartime decadence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thierry Poiraud<\/b> has directed or co-directed several music videos, notably for Vanessa Paradis; the feature films <\/span>The Return of James Battle<\/span><\/i> (2004); <\/span>Goal of the Dead<\/span><\/i> (2014); and <\/span>Don’t Grow Up<\/span><\/i> (2015), which won the Best Feature Film Award at the Paris International Fantastic Film Festival. His series credits include <\/span>Black Spot<\/span><\/i> (2017-2019) and <\/span>Infiniti<\/span><\/i> (2022). <\/span>Edouard Salier<\/b> has written and directed numerous award-winning music videos and shorts, including <\/span>Empire<\/span><\/i> (2006) and <\/span>Habla<\/span><\/i> (2014). His feature directing credits include <\/span>Cabeza Madre<\/span><\/i> (2017); <\/span>The Mali-Cuba Connection<\/span><\/i> (2019); and <\/span>Tropic<\/span><\/i> (2022), also starring Louis Peres.
