Synopsis<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

High school dropout-turned-master of manipulation, <\/span>Matt Vasseur has become a superstar life coach, leading crowds of avid followers in highly-choreographed, super-charged motivational events. Then a senate committee forms, demanding that coaches have actual credentials, and Matt\u2019s celebrity status slowly begins to falter. <\/span>Director <\/span>Yann Gozlan<\/b> and C\u00e9sar Award-winning actor Pierre Niney team up, once again, in another taut tale of success, power and greed. And once again (after Gozlan’s <\/span>A Perfect Man<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Black Box<\/span><\/i>) Niney’s social-climbing protagonist seems to have been christened with the very same moniker: “Mathieu Vasseur.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Director’s biography<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

A TAFFF regular, writer-director <\/span>Yann Gozlan<\/b> turned his back on economics early on, began making experimental films in video and Super8, then went on to write and direct two shorts, <\/span>Pellis<\/span><\/i> (2004) and <\/span>\u00c9cho<\/span><\/i> (2006). His first feature, the horror film <\/span>Caged<\/span><\/i> (2010), nabbed Best Film and Best Actress Awards at Screamfest in L.A.\u00a0 He followed that with a string of psychological thrillers: <\/span>A Perfect Man<\/span><\/i> (opening film, COLCOA 2015); <\/span>Burn Out<\/span><\/i> (COLCOA 2018); <\/span>Black Box<\/span><\/i> (COLCOA 2021), which was nominated for five C\u00e9sar Awards; and <\/span>Visions<\/span><\/i> (2023). He also served as co-writer on Thomas Kruithof\u2019s chilling espionage thriller, <\/span>The Eavesdropper<\/span><\/i> (COLCOA 2017).
