“Young man with early-onset Alzheimer’s wants to take off. Seeks travel companion for his final excursion. Itinerary to be determined together. Length of trip: one year, tops, as per doctor’s estimate. Possibly shorter.” That’s the personals ad 26-year-old \u00c9mile posts. Joanne responds. And two strangers set off in an orange van for the Pyrenees. Based on Melissa Da Costa’s break-out best-selling novel, All the Blue in the Sky<\/em><\/strong> launches us on a road trip that takes some unpredictable twists and turns, and illustrates small moments of great dignity and mutual respect in the face of the inevitable. A surprisingly moving tale sensitively told.<\/p>\n

Director’s Biography<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Born in Bolivia, director Maurice Barth\u00e9lemy<\/strong> began his career as an actor with a special flair for comedy, studying at the Cours Florent, joining the Robin des Bois theater company, and appearing in numerous films and TV series. In 2001, he co-wrote the script for Alain Chabat’s comic feature RRRrrrr!!!<\/em>, in which he also performed. He wrote and directed his first feature, Casablanca Driver<\/em>, in 2004. That was followed by Papa<\/em> (COLCOA 2006), Low Cost<\/em> (COLCOA 2011), Pas <\/em>tr\u00e8s normales activit\u00e9s<\/em> (2013), Les Ex<\/em> (2017) and two episodes of the TV series Peplum<\/em> (2019).
