From renegade auteur Jacques Audiard comes\u00a0Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/em>, an audacious fever dream that defies genres and expectations. Through liberating song and dance and bold visuals, this odyssey follows the journey of four remarkable women in Mexico, each pursuing their own happiness. The fearsome cartel leader Emilia (Karla Sof\u00eda Gasc\u00f3n) enlists Rita (Zoe Salda\u00f1a), an unappreciated lawyer stuck in a dead-end job, to help fake her death so that Emilia can finally live authentically as her true self. Written and directed by Audiard\u00a0(Rust and Bone, A Prophet<\/em>), the double Cannes-winning film also stars Selena Gomez, Adriana Paz, and Edgar Ram\u00edrez.<\/p>\n

Writer\/Director Jacques Audiard<\/strong> has won both the C\u00e9sar Award for Best Film and the BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language twice: in 2005 for De battre mon c\u0153ur s\u2019est arr\u00eat\u00e9<\/em> and in 2010 for Un proph\u00e8te<\/em>. Un proph\u00e8te<\/em> also won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival that same year. His film De rouille et d’os<\/em> competed for the Palme d\u2019Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language, for a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film and won the BFI London Film Festival Award for Best Film. His film Dheepan<\/em> won the Palme d\u2019Or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. He has since directed three films: the<\/em> Sisters brothers<\/em>, for which he won the Silver Lion for Best Direction at the Venice Film Festival; Les Olympiades<\/em> which was in competition at Festival de Cannes; and Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/em><\/strong>, a double award with the Jury Prize and the Best Actress Award for these four actresses at the Cannes 2024 Film Festival.<\/p>\n
