Since its formation, the Earth has experienced five mass extinctions. The sixth is just beginning… when Julia, Tom and their two kids celebrate their son’s 13th birthday on a boat in the middle of the ocean. In the midst of the festivities, a brutal storm rises, nearly capsizing the boat. The family awakens to find itself on a ravaged desert landscape. It seems the Earth has undergone an inconceivable reversal of its magnetic poles, literally draining water from the oceans. Danger lurks everywhere in this post-apocalyptic world, where crazed humans and hungry creatures from the abyss forage for human flesh, and a family must fight for its survival. Because when the poles reverse again, it will be too late.

The son of French novelist and screenwriter Pascal Jardin, Frédéric Jardin began his career as an assistant director on such films as Jean-Luc Godard’s Germany Year 90 Nine Zero (1991), Jacques Doillon’s Amoureuse (1992) and Claude Sautet’s Un cœur en hiver (1992). His earliest writer/director credits were on the comedies La folie douce (1994), Les frères Sœur (2000) and Cravate Club (2002), then he moved into the thriller genre with Sleepless Night (2011). He went on to direct numerous TV series episodes, including for Braquo (2014), Spiral (2014-2020), Ein paar Tage Licht (2021) and Totems (2022). Survive was presented at this year’s Fright Fest in the UK.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][mk_image src=”https://theamericanfrenchfilmfestival.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/surviveuspostermainfinal5992.webp” image_size=”full” frame_style=”gray_border” align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
