Christmas Eve is right around the corner and nothing is going as planned. The 92,000 elves in Santa’s workshop all keel over and pass out, in one fell swoop! That’s quite a blow to Old Saint Nick. He has no choice but to hitch up the old reindeer and fly down to Earth, on the double, in search of a cure! But once he touches down in Paris, he’ll need to scare up some allies to help him save the day. The eminently-talented Alain Chabat brings this enchanting story to life — with all the sparkle, clever dialogue, stunning visual effects and heartfelt emotion it deserves — as writer, director and the most endearing Santa ever likely to grace the screen (and with talking reindeer, to boot!). This family charmer, which delighted French critics and audiences alike, has the potential to become a Gallic Wizard of Oz for the 21st century!

Academy Awards 2003 Nomination for Best Documentary.

This documentary presents an epic portrait of winter bird migration. Filmed on all seven continents over four years, the footage is brought together into one portrait of a journey that’s uniformly arduous for all kinds of different birds. Rather than concentrating on statistics and facts, the film near-wordlessly portrays the sheer physical effort demanded of the birds on their disparate routes. Along the way, we see the many dangers they face, from man-made waste to a group of hungry crab.

When she accidentally breaks his beloved violin, they must take a long voyage to Ernest’s country of Gibberitia, home to the only artist who can repair it. But when they arrive, they are shocked to discover that all forms of music have been banned in Gibberitia for many years, and a land once known across the world for its incredible musicians has fallen silent. It is up to Ernest and Celestine and their new friends, including a mysterious masked outlaw, to bring music and happiness back to the land of bears.

From the creators of the Academy Award®-nominated Ernest & Celestine, comes another hilarious, heartwarming tale of animal misfits destined to become a classic. The countryside isn’t always as calm and peaceful as it’s made out to be, and the animals on this farm are particularly agitated: a fox who mothers a family of chicks, a rabbit who plays the stork, and a duck who wants to be Santa Claus. If you think life in the country is a walk in the park, think again! Directors Benjamin Renner and Patrick Imbert adapt Renner’s own acclaimed graphic novel into a delirious, delightful triptych of interlocking stories, with a pacing and visual spontaneity that harkens back to classic Looney Tunes shorts and slapstick two-reelers. But underneath the gags (and there are plenty of them), the three stories offer a sensitive and beautiful portrayal of family and the anxieties of modern life.
